Mortgage Money

I am being asked this question every day right now, “Can I even get a loan?” If you read the paper and especially if you watch the news on TV you probably think that getting a mortgage is difficult or impossible right now. Well don’t worry; there is plenty of mortgage money out there. I talked to one of my best lenders a couple of days ago and he told me that he has enough money to make a loan on every house in the Athens area. It is true that underwriting is more difficult. Unlike last year, now you need some income and an okay credit score to buy a house but most people can do that. Interest rates are still low as well. Today a 30 year fixed rate mortgage will cost you about 6.125% and there are lots of properties to choose from. People who are buying now in the Athens area are getting some great deals. I don’t know when we will come out of the down real estate market that we are in but when we do prices are going up. So don’t wait to buy real estate, buy real estate and wait!
