People Are Flocking to Athens!

According to the U.S. Census Bureau dated July 10, 2008, people are flocking to Athens in the 21st century! According to the records, 12, 491 more people live in Athens than did 7 years ago. Athens also regularly ranks high when organizations put out lists such as the greenest cities in the United States, the best places to retire, or recently, a list of best small cities for business and careers. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Athens is the 2nd fastest-growing city of more than 75,000 in the State.
Athens’ growth of 12.5% is the 2nd best in the State for cities of 75,000 or more. Watkinsville grew by 34.7% to 2,825 people and Statham grew by 38.2% to 2820 people during the same 7 years.
Athens is a great place to live and when people visit, they become believers. We have a high quality of life whether you live in town or in one of the surrounding counties.
